We have a dress code for a reason; student safety is our
number one priority, and we intend to bring all those who fail to follow the
rules to justice. Any delinquents caught speeding down the hall sporting
disheveled, untidy, or offensive attire will immediately be written up and
given a warning as well as fined a reasonable amount. A second offense will
result in a session meeting with said student accompanied by his/her parent or guardian.
The student has the right to plead guilty or innocent and justify their
actions. If caught for a third time, minimal hours of community service will be
given. Persisting behavior will result in the student being escorted off the premises.
This is only for the safety and well-being of the students. Remember: our goal
is to serve and protect our community! And we cannot do that with hoodlums in
the mix!

Good job, Mary Stuart. I like your use of passive voice in the opening paragraph - makes it sound very legal and official.
ReplyDeleteYours really made me laugh. It is funny how you made the dress code into a cops uniform and only allowed school issued walkie talkies instead of cellphones. The opening paragraph also sorta reminds me of Mr.Chambers when he talks about safety.
ReplyDeleteI really like this, especially the part about the school issued walkie-talkies. You really captured the tone of a cop and the opening paragraph was great!
ReplyDeleteThis was good, I liked the opening paragraph and how you made it seem like there was an actual cop patrolling around the school. Also how he would have everyone dress like a cop if it was his decision.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I really like the intro paragraph. You had a good tone of voice and you made it sound like a legit police environment.
ReplyDeleteHahaha I love this! I loved how you were all about safey and communiy. You did an amazing job creating a very strict and officer-like tone. I loved your comments on first, second, and third offenses with pleading giulty and justifying your actions. I also like your comments on the colors that are preferred and how cell phones are not permitted but walkIe- talkies are. Good job Mary Stuart!
