Doritos: Baby Slingshot 2012

This Commercial aired in 2012 for the Super Bowl and was a huge hit, and there is no question why. This commercial appeals mainly to human emotions (pathos), especially humor. People watching these commercials always seem to remember the funny ones more than any others, and Doritos knows it. Doritos is notorious for making commercials that people remember simply because they are hilarious and this is just another example.
The commercial starts off with the typical 8 year old child that is nagging the baby and the grandmother. This is something that all the watchers of the commercial can relate to. In many ways we all hate this small child because no one likes being egged on and this puts automatically on the side of the small child and the grandmother.
The commercial then turns to appeal to humor. The grand mother sling shooting the baby is hilarious and the music that is played while the baby is flying through the air makes it even better. The baby is triumphant and steals the Doritos and we are all happy for him and the grandmother.
This commercial does a very good job of appealing to grandparents especially those who have younger grandchildren. This commercial also appeals to everyone who finds it funny simply because they will remember it and therefore buy Doritos, which is always the goal of any commercial.
